LIE DOWN -- turn off the lights, and relax -- close your office door (IF you can). And ... limit the amount of noise in your vicinity -- because noise and light made my own migraines MORE Painful.

Try taking a really hot bath, it helps, a lot.
Or, this will sound silly, but.... fill up the bathroom sink with cool water and add a tray or two of ice cubes. Hold your face in the cold water as long as you can and repeat several times. This helps to relieve the capilliaries that are causing the migraine.
If you are sick to your stomache and the meds the doctor gave didn't help, call them back or call the pharmacy and ask them what to do. Be sure you tell them that you have already taken meds.

OW! Been there, done that. The medicine may take up to 2 hours to work -- which can seem a lifetime!! If you are at home, go to a cool, dark room, lay down and put an icepack on your head. If you are at work, see if you can get some ice and relax in your office with ice on your head (temples mostly). Drinking a cola may also help (caffeinne). I always keep frozen "blue packs" at work and at home for just this problem. Also, if the medicine the doctor does not help, let him know. There are several of thm out there -- Imitrex does NOTHING for me, but AXERT works wonders!! Hope it gets better soon!!

I suffer from migraines too, and am sorry that you're going through this. Perhaps the medicine he gave you is upsetting your stomach. If it has codeine in it, it upsets my stomach even more than the migraine already does. Call your doctor and tell him, and he might give you something else. I have to go to bed when they get really bad. I drink sprite and eat saltines, but I usually end up in bed with no light in the room until it passes. Good luck!

I do suffer from constant migraines and here are the common reasons for them:
1. Do you have high blood pressure?
2. Do you have vision problems that may be causing eye strain? See an eye doctor.
3. Do you sit too long in one position, causing possible neck and shoulder strain?
4. High cholesterol and obesity can cause high blood pressure, leading to headaches.

take at least 800mg of ibuprofin. stop smokeing and get some fresh air. put a cold rag on your forehead. make sure there is no water in your ears. check your ears for an ear ache. how do your teeth feel. anything thats in your head that might be in pain is causeing your migrane. so if its constant pain you either have water in your ears a tooth thats bad or an ear ache. have those checked if its just a migrane you got today and its nothing ordinary then you just have to take your medicine and wait it out. otherwise its one of the 3 things i said. so have your doctor check your ears for water have your dentist look at your teeth and make sure you docotor knows its not an ear ache "infection"
