That person will most likely be responsible for damages and injuries. That person could be charges with cival and/or criminal legals. If the accident resulted in dealth, try thinking about vehicular homicide. If alcohol was involved with a death, think murder.

Depends on the country.
In the US it depends on the severity of the accident. Someone died. They could be charged with vehicular homicide. Fender bender? A fine and insurance goes up.

They will definitely serve time in jail, be fined extensively, lose their license, pay higher insurance premiums and depending on the circumstances, be charged with: endangerment, manslaughter, etc. Not a good thing to have on your record.
