They aren't free, it's only free if you want an extension.

Renewing mine and the family's,the only time there free is if you want an extension on the current passport,so tough luck you gota pay £51 or £34 depending on your age!!

All passports are charged. Go down to the post office and you see all the fees there. Even if you have to change your name, status or picture you still have to pay

when you're on your parents passport - so not for long

Never! You used to be able to go on your parents one but they stopped that now so it's all money, money, money!
