anyone can change their name, legally, for a valid reason, by mkaing application to the clerk of courts in the county in which you (your case your FI) reside. you state on the ap. the reason why. you appear before a judge, state your case. this is very informal. if your FI does not have a lot debts and such it could look like he was hiding from, he would be granted the name change.
do this prior to the wedding.
then at the wedding, you take his (new) name.

you don't need him to do it, you can have your last name changed to basically anything you want. I took my mother's maiden name once my parents divorced. But to go about it you need to contact the Social security department and head down to the DMV and to city hall. There's a form you fill out, pay a fee, and a short wait til your name is changed but you also have to change it on every official document, such as your Social security card, health insurance, add res, DL. I'm not sure the regulations in your state since I am not sure where you are from but here is the regulations from my state to give you help with where to look.

Find a civil lawyer and tell him/her your fiance wants a name change. It will cost several hundred dollars, there will be a hearing, and it can be done. Do this, have the name change filed in Court, and do it before you get married. He will also have to notify Social Security, all credit companies, and everywhere else he has any records of importance.

You file some very simple paperwork and then change your info with the social security office when you have your documents. Google "name change" for your state or county.

This is for brides but it might give you some info. You have to appear before a judge to legally change your name. My cousin did it; it's no big deal.
Call your courthouse; they'll give you info.

I believe getting your name changed is just filing some papers and paying to file them. I would call your local courthouse.
