At the ABC store, my friend was allowed to buy alcohol the day before his 21st Birthday but, his birthday fell on a Sunday. I wasn't sure if it was only because they're closed on Sunday's that he was allowed to purchase it the day before or if that is a policy they have everyday of the week.

Thanks!

It wasn't illegal because in the store, the sign said, "You must be born on_______ to purchase alcohol." And it was the day of his Birthday, which was the next day. I have a few other friends who were able to do it too the day before their birthday's but I wasn't sure if it was just because their birthday's were on Sunday's.

And it was definitley the afternoon he purchased his alcohol from the ABC store.

Actually, the only thing you need to worry about is if you look the part whether you are not. If not, then they will ask for I.d. If you look the part ( older ) then your in. A lot of places will cut you a break because it's your birthday, even if it's the next day. Depends on who's serving you. Good luck.

i latterly study in right now's papers about contactless economic employer playing cards. I do exactly not believe the conception in any respect, Lily. curiously, human beings in M &S and little question different shops were only status interior the range of the contactless economic employer readers and searching that the 'readers' were scanning their information from playing cards that were of their handbags/wallets. It replaced into not till they received their month-to-month statements that they got here upon that they were being charged for purchases that they'd not made ! My previous formed theory of sticking to money looks the suited way of averting this, although I worry actually money will become component to the previous interior the not too distant destiny. certain, I too am a sceptic, that is actual not lengthy previously criminals have the skill to study those contactless playing cards, so banks are only making a rod for all of our backs.

Your friend got really lucky!
It is illegal to purchase alcohol until you are 21.
I am from Virginia and worked as a bartender and part-time at ABC store in Norfolk.

You need to wait till you are officially 21 - even if it falls on a Sunday.

Perhaps he can go to a club at midnight and get in. It worked for me when my 21st fell on Easter Sunday.
