It depends on whether you were committing any crime at the time, on whether there is enough evidence to do anything about it even if you were (not likely to be witnesses, hard for the pedestrian to get your number under the circs), and on whether the pedestrian reports it. They may well not since there was no harm done. If you had hurt them, then factors like your speed, your position in the road and whether you had any alcohol in your system would determine whether you had committed a crime such as Excess Alcohol, Dangerous Driving, etc.

Luckily you didn't hit them. For a start the pedestrian should have been wearing one of those reflective things - Why do pedestrians always assume a driver can see them?!! Don't fret about it, just be a little more careful next time. Er..... were you driving without lights????....I ask because you say it was "pitch black.

If you didn't hit them then nothing, but you should only be going at speeds you can stop in an emergency from. If you can only see 40m ahead of you your speed should be limited to about 45MPH in an Escort, 60ish in a Volvo S80 or equivalent or about 75 in an Aston Martin, or 100+ in a Maclaren Mercedes. Depends partly on the cars ability to stop.

I can't speak for you, but the pedestrian is probably street pizza on the side of the road.
You probably panicked like a little ***** and drove off without consulting the authorities.
