McAfee is a good one, better then Norton. Norton is ok but there are better ones. But if you don't want to spend any money & still get maximum protection try using AVG & Avast. 2 anti-virus progs that you can have installed at the same time & will not conflict with each other. Another option is to use what your isp provides as most these days provide them for free, included with your subscription. If your isp doesn't, then definitely try AVG & Avast. Both free, both work great & they don't conflict. Nothing to lose except nasty viruses & malware. If you choose to buy an anti-virus you should still use AVG alongside with it. Better safe then sorry. Hope this was helpful, good luck!!

For the anti virus I like Norton works great but does conflict with some programs. For overall security I love Mcafee. For free yes AVG is the best (is what I am currently using).

Well, its kinda hard to answer your question because basically we use only one anti-virus program on each computer system we owned. Mostly all of us haven't tried all the program out there, so in my experience I've tried Kaspersky Internet Security 2006, Norton Antivirus 2006, and AVG Free Edition.

Currently I'm using Kaspersky because it proved to me that I'm protected all the time. Out in the blue, Kaspersky detected that someone was attacking my computer. I'm really impressed, and it also blocked the ads carrying adware or malicious objects. The scanning process for my whole system is 1 and a half hour.

I really wouldn't recommend Norton because its the most memory eating in my list, its like you're scanning your system everytime! Even worst, the scanning process takes years! I barely completed one scan..

AVG Free Edition is quite okay, its really a great program to be free.
