The selfish part of me would want some, but it was a gift! I would not have any rights to it, and would be greatful that I just changed somebodys life.

On the other side of the coin, if you gave your secret santa lotto tickets, and they end up winning nothing, would you feel obligated to give them a little bit of money to make up for the fact that you gave them a worthless present?

If your answer is no, then you don't deserve any of their winnings.

It depends. Does the recipient know that I was the one who gave the gift? You said it was "secret santa," which usually has as the basis of its amusement the fact that no one knows who gave what. If the recipient knew I gave the lottery ticket and did not share, I don't think I would feel mad. I would feel disappointed....

I wouldn't be happy, but it'd be their right to keep it...it's their gift, so not mad, but disappointed
