Your metabolism needs food to function, same as petrol in a car if you like!
Also you are allowing yourself to get hungry and are more likely to eat snacks to satisfy the craving - I'm always running late in the morning and have a bowl of microwave porridge when I get into work - keeps me satistfied until lunchtime (I do admit not everyone can have breakfast in work but I have slipped it into my routine).
I think its very important for children to get into the routine of breakfast, they need a good source of slow release carbohydrates (cereals are a good example) this helps them to concentrate - my son goes to the school breakfast club and enjoys the variety on whats on offer, I then have the time to finish off my make-up before I leave for work.

No it's not okay to skip breakfast. The reason you might be gaining weight is bc of skipping breakfast. Having breakfast is what jump starts your metabolism in the morning. The reason doctors say your biggest meal should be breakfast is because if you have a big breakfast, you'll be burning it off throughout the day unlike dinner which you normally go to sleep a few hours after. So if you skip breakfast, your body will be on sleep mode until you eat again.

No. Skipping breakfast is not a way to lose weight. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. A balanced breakfast provides the adequate nutrition required for the day. Lunch is second and dinner should be light. You should also consume 3 small healthy snacks in between those meals.
You do have time for breakfast you just choose not to conquer it. You have the option of going to bed earlier and waking earlier. Re-evaluate your schedule if you must, but nothing is impossible to a willing mind.

Don't do it! NEVER skip breakfast! You sleep, typically, eight hours during the night. This is a complete "dead zone" as far as nutrition goes. I can't even stress how important it is to make sure you eat breakfast! If you skip it, you can push well into 12+ hours without any food at all! This triggers the "starvation" mode in the body, and can cause you to 1) eat more than you typically would during lunch... and 2) cause your body to hold on to every calorie you give it instead of burning it off!
Even if it's just a small bowl of cereal and a piece of fruit, eat breakfast.

Breakfast is one of the most important meals. It gives you energy for the morning. Kids should defintiely eat breakfast.
If you're putting on weight it could be that you are compensating later in the morning and eating more than you would normally if you'd had breakfast.
All depends on what you eat too.

Nope breakfast is the most important meal of the day. You should not skip any meals. Just eat better. Eat leaner meat, more veggies and fruits, cut out the chips and sugar especially the pop. Drink more fat free milk. EXERCISE!
You also should have something about every two hours to keep your body going strong. Eat a light breakfast cereal (like special k with berries), piece of fruit or yogurt midmorning snack, a sandwich with a salad for lunch, yogurt or fruit or popcorn for midafternoon snack, lean meat with veggies and a salad and maybe one bread for dinner.

Well, I have only eaten about three breakfasts in the last 17 years. i stopped when I was 10 as I never had time. If I tried to eat anything when I get up now, i feel sick! I would say eat something light - breakfast bars are great. I tend to have 2-3 big mugs of coffee and thats all. Wish i had carried on though!

WELL TO START WITH PLEASE TURN OFF CAPS LOCK!
I think basically if you get used to not eating breakfast your metabolism changes, so any food you do eat is harder to burn off. Plus you need all the energy you can get first thing in the morning.
If you don't think you have time, get up a little earlier, or snack on the way to school. Even if it's just a banana or a cereal bar, you have got to eat something!
Have a nice week!

You should eat breakfast. Always. People who eat breakfast lose weight easier because their body is getting a more regular intake of the necessities.
