how come in engand the legal age to have sex is 16 and in america it is 18 who thinks 16 or 18 best to be legal to have sex ?

Here in Germany you can have sex when you are 12 with a fourteen year old or fourteen with a sixteen year old etc. but countries with higher legal sex consent ages are too prudent and need to understand that sex should be about being with someone who you love. But when people act as if the word sex is a swearword, well that piss.es me off.

It all depends on what state you are in. State law governs the age of majority or the age in which you are able to give consent. I think 16 or 17 is around the norm for most states, and that is probably the right age for consent.

i think it depends really. i think wen u r 16 u do have to learn wen to take responsibility. however i think in england it is pretty stupid, you can move out when u r 16, but drive wen u r 17...?!?! y? shunt it be the uva way round? how can u muve out? ud have to take the bus everywhere u go if u muved out at 16!! but yh soz bak 2 ur question. i think it should really be 16 or 17. i do think 18 is a bit too old fot it to be legal. resonsibility for your own actions is the key rule really! xx

If people are given proper sex education and are aware of its consequences, 16 is ok. Those who ask you to wait till marriage are idiots. How does that help? The last thing we want is to have people getting married early just to have sex.

I'm not sure what the point is in prosecuting someone who is slightly underage. Would the threat of legal action prevent anyone? And would they then go all nympho as soon as they were old enough.
I was 14 and fairly clueless and it was nearly crap enough to put me off

I think the day you get married is the best age to have sex or the day after incase you're too tired from all the wedding festivities

i know its 16 in the uk but i think it should be at least 18. so many underage girls have sex and get pregnant coz they arent mature enough to use contraception properly and i think making the age higher might stop them from having sex so young.
