I recently met someone online and we've been on five dates. The first two went great, the next three were all so-so: I'd talk and he'd look away, he'd talk and I'd have nothing to say. In the end, I'm just not into him. However, I get the feeling that he really likes me, and that he won't like it if I tell him I don't want to see him anymore.
He's leaving for a vacation to Belize in a few days and I want to know people's opinion on whether I should tell him I don't want to see him before he goes or after. Will it just ruin his vacation if I tell him now? Will he be pissed when he comes back from vacation if he didn't know he could have "fun" with whomever he might have met there?
What do you think?

Wow, I feel validated. So, I actually already did tell this guy that I don't want to see him anymore (I didn't want that knowledge to sway the answers) and he was PISSED that I didn't wait until after he got back from vacation. He told me that he thought it was very disrespectful that I ruined his vacation by dumping him just prior to it.
Glad to know I'm not the only one who feels like it's worse to lead someone on. Then again, if I had waited, he probably would have been pissed that I didn't tell him before...

Tell him before, regardless of how he may feel you need to tell him that your just not into him. And yeah it may allow him to enjoy other interests while on vacation. Just know he will get over it. Everything is hard in the beginning, but it always smooths it's self out.

I would tell him now. Think if the roles were reversed. Wouldnt you want to know before you left for some great trip and maybe had the opportunity to have some fun or meet the man of your dreams even?

I dont agree with breaking up after vacation it surely will have an effect on the other person as been used or taken for a ride, if it is in your intentions then do before any vaction plans,

you might just wanna sit down and have a conversation with him. if you just tell him its over and leave it at that, he might get alittle mad. but if you talk to him and be honest, then maybe he will understand. you def. need to talk to him now so you both can just get over it. If its only 5 dates then he wont be toooo upset about the situation, and maybe he will have a better time there, knowing what he knows. good luck

I say tell him now so if he happens to meet someone on the trip he will be free. If he thinks that you are into him then he may pass up another opportunity. Don't waste your time or his.

What makes you think he won't be having "fun" in Belize even if he thinks you're still dating?

Tell him before he leaves. That way he can probably meet someone else on vacation.
He'll be pissed esp if he resisted some hot babe bcos of you.

i think that u should tell him b4 he goes so that he has time alone to think things over and hopefully by the time he gets bak he'll probaly leave u alone or maybe u 2 could b friends
