the according to early Christianity Mary was of the tribe of Judah and the lineage of King David, there is no evidence that Marys Mother was the sister of Elizabeth who as you point out was of the lineage of Aaron, in the Proto-Gospel(proto-evangelion) of James it states that Anne and Joachim were the names of Mary`s parents who were of the house of David also.

Mary and Elizabeth were "cousin", or at least female relations of some sort. I don't remember the lineage of Mary being discussed anywhere in the bible (chapter and verse please?), Joseph was of the house and lineage of David, so that is why they had to go to Bethleham. Since according to the Bible Joseph was not the biological father of jesus, i guess that means that he would have been considered of the house of Aaron, since the Jews count lineage through the mother not the father anyway.

Mary was a descendant of David, and David came from the tribe of Judah. Aaron was from Levi, so apparently Mary and Aaron weren't from the same house. Zacharias would have been from Levi, since he was the priest. It seems possible to me that Mary and Elizabeth could have been cousins, but maybe the mother of one of them married into another tribe. For example, Elizabeth's mom could have been from Judah but then married someone from Levi, making Elizabeth a Levite (from Aaron).

Elizabeth, I believe was Mary's relative. Maybe cousin or something like that. I mostly see it as "your female relation"

In the name of God, the Gracious, the Merciful.
So her Lord accepted her with gracious acceptance and caused her to grow an excellent growth and made Zachariah her guardian. Whenever Zachariah visited her in the chamber, he found with her provisions. He said, 'O Mary whence hast thou this?' She replied, 'It is from Allah.' Surely, God gives to whomsoever He pleases without measure.
And remember when the angels said, 'O Mary, God has chosen thee and purified thee and chosen thee above all women of the time.'
'O Mary, be obedient to thy Lord and prostrate thyself and worship the one God with those who worship Him.
This is of the tidings of things unseen which We reveal to thee. And thou wast not with them when they cast their arrows, as to which of them should be the guardian of Mary, nor wast thou with them when they disputed with one another.
