I am looking to make little Crawfish and Andouii sausage pockets for a holiday party and was wondering if I could just use regular store bought pie crust, and cut into squares. I'd fill each square and fold into a triangle, crimping and baking as I would the regular pie... Any thoughts??

use pillsbury rolled biscutts in a tube - they work great or you can use Wanton Wrappers and fry them - which is really cool

Oil Pie Crust

"Very easy recipe from my Grandmother. Crust can be rolled out a second time if necessary and it won't get tough."
Original recipe yield: 2 pastry crusts.

INGREDIENTS:
2 3/4 cups sifted all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1/2 cup milk

DIRECTIONS:
Mix flour and salt together. Pour milk and oil into one measuring cup, do not stir, and add all at once to flour. Stir until mixed, and shape into 2 flat balls. Wrap in plastic wrap. Refrigerate for 15 minutes or more.
Roll out on lightly floured surface.

Yes, you sure can. It's the same kind of crust that is used traditionally. I like the idea of the wonton wrappers and phylo dough too!

Or you can use store bought philo dough. Its usually in the freezer section.
