My last tattoo was done about 4 months ago after it healed I noticed that the ink stained the skin next to the tattoo. Not noticable unless I point it out or you are really up close to it. Does anyone know why this happened? I had it done at a tattoo party, the tattoo artist is a professional he works at a shop in VA BCH. Someone said that he might of added water to the ink and thats why the skin not tattooed stained. Are there any options to fix this besides getting the tattoo redone larger to cover it or tattoo something else over it?

What your describing sounds like a "blow out". It means the artist went too deep. Not fixable unless u cover it up. I would suggest maybe adding a background of some sort. Good luck! And u really should be getting tats in a clean shop....not some party even if he is professional.

There is many reasons that a tattoo may do what you have described. Bottom line is that if it really bothers you go back to the artist and have him fix it as best he can. If it doesn't REALLY BOTHER you than just ignore the slight problem and maybe keep that in mind the next time you get a tattoo. Don't go back to the same artist.

I really doubt that the artist added water to the ink.

I have seen this plenty of times. It is something that can easily be worked over with a finer needle.

If it isn't that noticable, don't worry about it. At a later date you can always add something to it or just leave it be
