I've got a rather large tattoo on the bottom of my back. The tattooist told me, if I felt the pain was getting quite bad to tell him. It felt as though he was moving the needle around from one area to another. To stop the pain getting so bad. It was tolerable - (trust me, I'm a natural wimp) and the results look good. I'd have another - but waiting till I see what I want.

My husband is a tattoo artist and I have a few tattoos myself. :) lol I love questions like this. :) This is fairly easy to answer, you are being stabbed thousands of times with a needle. The bar in which goes through the machine has more than one needle head on it. It ranges from 1 to like 36. Liners usually have 3-5 needle heads and shaders (depending on the artists preference) usually have about 8-16. The machine bounces this bar up and down through the machine thousands of times. Yeah, it hurts. It's not supposed to tickle. Some areas are more sensitive than others and tend to hurt worse than others, but overall all tattoos involve some amount of pain. Good Luck

Most of the time, sure. It's known as a canopy-up. The first-rate factor you might do it take the brand new layout right down to a tattoo save that has a well fame, and ask for a session. Show them your historic tattoo and the layout you're in need of to exchange it with. They can let you know how colossal they are going to must move to hide and if any alterations to the layout will must be performed. Hope this solutions the query for you. Good good fortune!

A tattoo is a life time thing, unless, of course it is removed. I understand that removing it is more painful that getting one. I'd get a fake tattoo first and live with it for a while to see if you like it.
If you decide to go ahead with a tattoo, be sure you go to a highly reputable establishment who uses clean needles. The last thing you need is being infected from unclean needles.

I have two tattoos, and both of them hurt...but it was tolerable pain. The first one I got on the small of my back, and it hurt very little. The second one I got up on my right shoulder. The closer you get to your side/underarm area, the more sensitive the skin. The guy next to me was tearing up when he was getting one in the same place. I always ask them to make a mark without ink first to prepare myself for when they do start tatooing. You don't want to jump and have jagged edges or whatever. Just make sure you are getting something that you will love for life & never be embarassed of. I love both of mine still 10 years later! Good luck!

Yes they hurt, depending on location will determine how bad. It's not a lasting pain, more of a burning sensation. Only last while being tattooed. If you find something you really like they are worth getting.
FYI: Anything over bone will hurt the most. ex: feet, ankle, hip...

GO FOR IT! I have tons of tattoos and I love all of them. They all remind me of something in my life. It's really a mind over matter kind of thing when it comes to pain. I can block it out completely. If you get a good artist who is friendly and talks - it will distract you and not make you think of the pain so much. Good Luck! Do it!

Only you can decide if a tattoo is right for you. I have two, the part that hurts the most from my recollection is the outlining. One thing to keep in mind is that over time they do fade and if you want them to look good you will need to have them recolored. Mine have faded terribly, partly due to sun exposure over time.

I would ask you to reconsider getting a tattoo. I don't know how old you are, but don't forget that your skin will droop and sag someday and so will that tattoo! They just never look right on girls anyway and people will make some not-very-nice judgements about you based on nothing more than the fact that you have a tattoo.

I have 2 tattoos and yes they hurt, but it really depends on how much detail it will have. I have a butterfly on my lower back and I thought I was going to die. It has alot of color too. So if you have alot of detail and color have some pain pills around!!!
