The Father God desires all should come to repentence and have ever lasting life, and that none should perish.

Hell was made for the devil & his messengers.

As a Christian, I desire the same thing. Those who go to heaven are those whose sins are covered / atoned for by the Blood of the Lamb.

If it were up to me, I'd have a period after death during which a person must make up for all the harm he has done throughout his life, earning his place in heaven. (I don't believe in original sin or salvation through a third party.) Those who were decent during life would have a nice time of it, having little for which to atone, but those who weren't so nice would have a very nasty period awaiting them. Punishment would not be eternal, however, since no deed, however heinous, is deserving of eternal punishment. That is simply not a just sentence. After the person has done his penance and been cleansed of all guilt and regret, he would be admitted to heaven.

That seems more just than what most people believe. I personally don't believe in an afterlife at all. Life is our one chance, so we'd better get it right.

I'm confused by some of the answers. Some who insist that you have to "have Jesus" seem to be saying that they don't "desire" that the non-Jesus folks go to hell. I'm guessing they hope those folks will "get Jesus" before it's too late.

But the question only makes sense when it IS too late - people make it to heaven or hell AFTER they die. So if they die without Jesus in their hearts they would go to hell, right? And if that's our loving JC's plan, then it must be a good thing, right? So it's a good thing that these sinners go to hell! Let us rejoice! (Ain't love grand?)

As a Christian, I believe that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the light. But I have known many precious people of other faiths, and it would be wonderful to see them in heaven. My heart tells me it is possible. The bible is clear in what it says about Jesus, true, but God will be the ultimate judge of us all.

I am totally convinced that those who deny Jesus will not go to heaven. I do not desire it, for Jesus said that we are to work to save all. Jesus loves you.
