The Taurus was NOT replaced by the Five Hundred
The Taurus was replaced by the Fusion for 2006 model year.
The Five Hundred was added to Fords line up for 2005 model year & is a much larger vehicle than the Taurus
The Taurus was not available for retail sale for model years 2005 & 2006, only for fleet sales.
The last new Taurus rolled off the assembly line about 5 weeks ago.

The last Taurus rolled off the assembly line earlier this year.

They'll still be around in used car lots for awhile, though, and I'm sure Ford will continue to support them and so on.

Right! It was replaced with the Fusion in 2006. I LOVE my Fusion. I have a 2006 and it is awesome. My son has a 2007 and his is even more awesome. His is a 6 cyl and mine is only a 4, though. Still peppy and my husband can ride in the back-he is 6'5".
