Don't you understand the meaning of fasting? It isn't a deal you are making with God. "I'll give up food if you will do something for me" Nope that isn't what it is all about and if you think it is you may as well eat. fasting is a time to put everything physical under control of the spirit. This is to bring your mind closer to the things of God. Then our prayers will be (should be) closer to His perfect will.

Fasting is done to give full attention to the LORD. If TV is the distraction, then fast the TV & read Gods Word & pray instead. If food is the distraction, then fast the food.

yes but the best fast is done when done with prayer.
The doctor made me fast the other night so they could do blood work the next day i prayed that my blood would be fine, i do not know yet if my prayer has been answered.
