It only works when I hear the dial tone and the operator saying "If you'd like to make a call...". If I place the phone on the base to "hang up" the DSL connection is lost.

Do you have a 'filter' on the DSL line? The filters only go on the other phones used in the home!! Not on the DSL line, which goes straight to a jack. If that is not the case, I would call your DSL provider. Your modem may be kaput!!

Call your DSL company. The DSL and your phone line should work independently of each other. You should be able to get calls and be online at the same time.

No! So positioned the phone decrease back on the hook, and function them get rid of the fast. I used to artwork for GTE Testmark Labs in Lexington, KY and we did all forms of adverse tests for phones. Leaving the phone off the hook replaced into not between the tests. Assuming that cutting-side technologies enables your telephone employer to remotely try the line you're correct to, then have them reset the node that replaced into probably monitored a number of situations previously being switched off. once you raise the handset from the bottom, power is equipped for your telephone (tip to ring, -48Vdc). it must be insteresting to ensure how a telephone employer manages the ability call for if each and anybody picked up there handset at the same time.
