I would call the doctor's nurse and ask that question. It's probably caused by the baby sitting on a nerve. You can wait for the baby to move, but that might not happen for days, or you can ask the doctor's office what is a safe solution. Have you tried putting a pillow between your legs when you sleep? Sometimes that helps. Also, there are pregnancy girdles that can help support the weight.

Ooh sounds like maybe the baby's putting pressure on your sciatic nerve, which can send shooting pains down your leg. Shifting about into a different position which takes the weight of the uterus off the nerve might help, as may keeping moving (don't sit too long in one position) or maybe a warm pad on the painful area.

Don't take any pain relievers before speaking to your ob/gyn. Try heat to help relax the muscles and ask someone to massage the area (you might have trouble getting into a comfortable position to massage it yourself). Try gently stretching your leg but be careful not to strain. You're supporting extra weight and possibly compensating on your right leg. And besides, everything seems to be out of whack, right? Feel better and congratulations.

I had the same thing when I was pregnant, it is extremely painful but the doctors said it was sciatica and would ease after the baby is born and it did. Good luck, just rub some painkilling gel on it or relgex

It could be a pinched nerve, or the baby could be lying funnily across the nerve endings for your leg.
Try this link:

But more importantly, go to the doctor...
