I'm not sure you're correct in assuming that. Due to corruption and other inequities committed by the church as a whole, the Protestant Reformation led by Martin Luther had to be.

The book of Acts records much of what the first century church had to deal with. Already heresy had crept in, widows were being ignored, judaisers were adding works to grace, etc. If we want to observe what the original Christian church looked like, it is here.
As time went on, things have been added to the teaching of the first century church, things that pervert the gospel, or change it to mean something other than what was meant originally. Tradition can be good, but tradition must be godly.
I was taught that catholic is a synonym of universal, therefore, the catholic church is the universal church. The universal church is believers from all ages united in one body. [Christ's] That body does not answer to the pope, necessarily, but to ecclesiastical authority and ultimately to God.
Remember, Peter answered to the authorities in his day, "Do you think God wants us to obey you rather than him? We cannot stop telling about the wonderful things we have seen and heard." [Acts 4]

a church is the body of those who believe in jesus christ as lord and saviour-that means anywhere two or more persons meet in the name of the lord that is a church. if you follow this line then you will agree with me that long before any word catholic church people have been meeting and fellowshiping as a church. read the acts of apostles.
what we may say is that catholic church(as it is today called) was the first politically organised, recognised or acceptable denomination. but even if a united voted is given to the catholic church to be called first church it does not change the fundamentals of the christian faith.

Not all Christians of other denominations deny this fact, yet you are right that there are many that do.
"18"I also say to you that you are (A)Peter, and upon this rock I will build My church; and the gates of (B)Hades will not overpower it." - Matthew 16:18
Jesus built his Church upon Peter, the first Pope, and the Catholic Church is indeed the first Christian Church known. The Bible points to this, as do other historical documents.
Protestants that deny this fact generally do so because they ARE Protestant (protesters). They broke off from the Church because they disagreed with certain teachings.

I don't think Christians deny that fact, then again you did say "christians" so you probably are talking about that large group of people who go to church and don't really have a relationship with Christ anyway. If that's the case then I would say probably just ignorance due to to lack of real teaching and instruction or their own complacency.

Roman Emperor Constantine, who forced Christianity on the Roman Empire for political reasons, super-imposed Christian dogma over the super-structure of the old Roman religion to create the Catholic Church. Prior to that it was a loosely organized and unorganized grouping of illiterate delusional peasants who were coerced into believing in one of the many messiahs that were popping up all over that area at that time. If that is the fact you want every Christian to admit too, you don't have much to be proud of.

Because the truth is that the Orthodox Church is the original Church. The catholic church is the Latin heresy, not hardly Christian at all.

I don't feel this way. At my church, though it is Protestant, we do say "Catholic Church" in one of our creeds to mean "Universal Church." Many other churches I've been to, have the same creed but say "Universal Church."

Partially because they know very little about the history of Christianity; and partailly because they don't want to know the truth. To know history is to abandon Protestantism. It's as simple as that.

History tells us that Judaism was the first Christian religion, then Christianity branched off, and then Islam and so forth. Maybe you should research that.
Is this how your religion teaches people to act?
