I think that it is John. John was showing us the divinity of Jesus Christ. John was determined to show that Jesus is God in the flesh. The Messiah. The Son of God.

Luke also appeals to me, writing to 'Theopholis' ; which could have been a specific person, or could have been to ' men who love God.'

Who Mark was writing to is a controversy, whether to those that werre in a part of Africa, or those that were in the Middle East and Asia, as I understand it. But Mark did just come out and say it, that Jesus is the Son of God and the Messiah.

Matthew started with a genealogy linking the line of Jesus to the fourteen generations, a number believed to be significant to the timing that God chose as the time that the Christ would appear. I'm not sure that I would start there myself, but Matthew, as I understand it, was a bean counter (tax collecter), so I think that it makes sense then! ;)

John 1 is my favorite. All aspect in the bible from Genesis 1 (that in the begining was the word, and the word was with God, and the word was God) , the promise of salvation through Jesus (1:13), The fulfillment of the prophecy (1:11, 32), how Jesus pick His first desciples, etc..
It's all in there.
If you like the book of John, there's a movie out there called "Gospel of John". It's one of the best Jesus movie that I ever saw.

My favorite Gospel is the Book of John. I just finished studying the Book and I find that Jesus is portrayed so much more clearly as a person. Through this study, I felt myself feeling a more personal relationship with Christ. We really see what kind of 'man' Jesus was and all that He did for us while still a man. If you have not seen it yet, I would recommend, highly, watching the DVD, "The Gospel of John"....very good indeed.

John, since it started at the beginning. It says that Jesus was there at the beginning, That he is eternal, His word is eternal, and since I have accepted Jesus into my heart, and life, I am eternal. That he became flesh. I think that means him personally in the form of Jesus Christ, the man, but also that my flesh can become the word ~i.e. Christlike.

blessings!
