Actually, in 1973 children in the bigger cities were wearing padding under their clothing to protect themselves from knife attacks in the hallways. So you may have been the son of a transient worker in the oil fields and experienced noontime rabbit hunts, but not everybody was so lucky. That you became a Navy man, says a lot against carrying a rifle fulltime doesn't it?

the difference...jack was disiplined by his parents and extended family including the whole town where he lived. he had respect for all through fear of an a...whipping. today children haven't the fear that they will have a penalty for their actions. an a///whipping from the first day they don't show respect...and every time from that day forward from any concerned adult. no penalty, no fear...just problems...i'll take the good ol day and the a...whipping anytime. no one learns anything or benefits from whimpy time-outs...those just end up as jail time-outs someday.

All the PC crap, everyone wins at field day, teachers can't use red ink cause the students "might feel bad".

Leads to entitlement and I'm gonna get my gun.

Knowing that today eventually will be someones "good old days" sucks bigtime. Imagine how bad the future will be, if today really is worth wishing back...

Things today are hosed up. We need to allow parents to discipline their kids and slamdunk the trouble makers.
