I think its a Task bar!!
Ok...Run command "msconfig" from Run command prompt. When a box comes up, select "startup".
It will show all the programs list which runs by default when windows starts up.
Unsellect all EXCLUDING anti virus and sound drivers. Apply it then restart ur comp.

.
Click Start -> Run and now type MSCONFIG.
In the appearing window, select start up. You will have many applications visible there. Just uncheck the applications, which you dont want to appear, i.e., u dont want to get activated during start up.
Click OK.

Most of them would have an option to make them not appear in the taskbar. Try also looking in Control panel, like you can remove the audio speaker from appearing in the taskbar from sounds in Control panel

go up the upper part of your screen and right click, where the address bar is and a collum will appear, then you stroll down and which ever one has a check mark by it, is the one that is on top, to remove it, just click on it, and it will remove it self, it wont be deleted, but it will just notbe visibile.
