I had excessive hair loss accompanied by rapid weight loss. Neither was wanted. I found out that my thyroid was extremely overactive. Your hair could be falling out due to stress, or if you have lost weight. Just try to make sure you eat healthy and take vitamins. I have also heard of hair "shedding" every few years.

Have you had surgery in the last year? I had an appendectomy and my hair thinned dramatically for about a year. My mother's hairstylist and the anesthesiologist said it was a result of the anesthesia when they put me under.
