No. And because Jesus didn't believe in Hermes, I'm sure Jesus ended up in hell. After all, that's what happens when you don't believe in God(s). ;-)

I didn't know that Hermes being the God of Shepherds and Cowherds. I guess you do learn something everyday.

No. But he may have declared that he was THE Good Shepherd to counteract/ win people who would follow Hermes.

In Exodus, God did this with the plagues...he essentially challenged all of the gods of Egypt. Check it out!
