I have a fantastic book specifically about trees; it is a dichotomous guide which means it asks questions that lead to further questions which lead to further questions which lead to identification. It is called "Michigan Trees: A guide to the Trees of Michigan and the Great Lakes Region". It is by Burton V. Barnes and Warren H. Wagner Jr.

Get to www.amazon.com
www.b&n.com
www.abebooks.com
www.usedbooksearch.co.uk/
Also contact the State Dept. of Agriculture,
and the botany dept. of a large local university.
If you do not find the books that you're looking for at one or more of these "sites", I'll eat a full heaping serving of brocolli. (which I hate)
Good luck,
Doc. Dan.
