having sex with someone other than your wife? I know a man who supposedly lost his job for getting a woman (who wasn't his wife) pregnant. Is this possible? This guy had a reputation for being a womanizer, but come on! He was a damn good cop, and was supposedly fired for getting this woman pregnant.

I know it's called adultery, but seriously! If you arrested everybody who committed adultery, all the jails and prisons everywhere would stay full!

And I didn't think about the conduct unbecoming an officer. Ouch. What about if they went to a club on their night off and got drunk?

To kp, some of my best friends in the world are cops. The only reason you don't like them is because they burnt down the local crack house, and one stole your girlfriend.

Shut up.

It's all situational. Some can claim we are held to a higher standard. Some may say it shows lack of good judgement. It all depends on the department and the guild that represents the officer.

It doesn't seem fair, but many places required that police officers stay true to their wives. Its part of the job contract that holds that they maintain certain ethics. Getting the other woman pregnant was hard proof that he violated the rules. It seems strange being that most cops have a reputation for being womanizers (this has a lot to do with the stress of the job), but a baby on the way makes this one impossible to deny. On the brigther side - If he is a great cop like you say, he may get a second chance at another agency or even at the same place in a few years if he shows that he's made proper amends with his wife. I have seen that happen a few times.

It's called adultery and in most states it is illegal, so yes, it could get a cop or anyone else, fired from their job. And, not only does it look bad on the person who committed adultery, they can also be prosecuted for it.

Yes...cops are usually held to a higher standard of behavior in their private lives and the consequences for misbehavior can be severe.

Yes, you would be fired for "behavior unbecoming an officer." They make that VERY clear in the academy that it will not be tolerated. In other words...DON'T get caught and don't get anyone pregnant.

i think it's refreshing for a cop to get sh!tcanned for being a worthless fvck instead of the usual where they're always rewarded for doing illegal & immoral activity because they're all together in their stupid network of corruption and thinking they're better than everyone else. come down and breathe the same air as the rest of us and get off your ridiculous highhorse, law enforcement aholes.

so glad to hear of one getting what's coming to him so thanks for relaying this cautionary tale. any man cop or not who porks others outside of a marriage gets whatever is coming to them.
