well..i was out with this guy once, he used to go after me while i was still with my bf and after i broke up with my bf, i went out with him, intending to catch a movie or something..he turned up in just three-quarter pants, t-shirt and slippers while i was nicely dressed up because i had to attend a class gathering after that..

this was the first time meeting up and i guess he was really shy because he did not even dare to look at me and his voice was so soft that i can hardly hear what he was saying, well..we didn't catch any movie but ended up walking ard and going to a book store, after that, he said he was hungry and we decided to go grab a bite but everywhere was packed, then i suggested another place but he said he was tired and wanted to go home and then he left me stranded alone in the mall...!!!till now, i was still wondering why.....can anyone enlighten me?

Maybe he felt awkward because you were dressed up and he wasn't. That could have created a gap between you from the get-go. Was the eating place you suggested one that you should dress nicely in?

OK -- maybe he should have dressed better to begin with, but once you're out, what can you do?

Maybe you should go out with him again, and just innocently specify what kind of dress you expect. Then if there are still problems, at least you can weed that out. But I know that if my date was dressed way better than me and we were going to be places where a lot of people could see that, I would be uncomfortable no matter how much I liked her.

Just my thoughts....

I think he was intimidated by you cause you're in a nice dress, maybe he thinks you're to high class for him.
