I lost my doberman to cancer in march. He was only 5.
There was nothing anyone could have done but he was still happy and playing a feeling good when we took him in to be put down. He had huge tumors in his mouth and could not eat hardly at all. The vet had a hard time putting him down as he was still so livley and happy but he knew it was for the best. The receptionist had to leave becasue she could not stand to watch it. I miss him to this day.
I have other dogs and work with many others but I miss him.
With time it will hurt less and you will have wonderful memories of things you and Jazz did or places you were with her. One of the hardest things for a vet to do it to put an animal to sleep. They are a doctor and they do not like to loose the fight to heal an animal. Putting one down is loosing for them. Some handle it better than others. I am sorry yours did not do so well. Maybe you will want to see another vet in the future.
Know that your beloved Jazz is free of pain and just waiting for you to be together again.

I know exactly how you feel! I put my little companion (Killer) of 15 years to sleep 2 years ago last Sept. 29th and it still hurts. Did you take her to the vet because she was having a problem? I think vets have a hard time dealing with putting an animal down so they seem not to care. If Jazz was sick you just have to realize that you really did the best thing for your doggie and it was the most humane way to let her go. I'm sorry you lost her but just remember all the fun you had with her. She doesn't hold it against you.

i'm so sorry to your discomfort, yet i comprehend the way you sense. My first "very own" dogs (no longer a kinfolk dogs) lived from my fifteenth twelve months till i became into 24. it relatively is been 25 years now, and that i nonetheless get teary once I pay attention the song that became into enjoying on the journey to the vet that final day. All i will declare is do no longer rush your self and don't enable all people inform you you're loopy or it is not organic to grieve that long. Grief is a private, individualized technique, and the incontrovertible fact which you're nonetheless grieving is purely evidence that your dogs touched your coronary heart and touched your existence in a definite way. After some years, the discomfort will no longer be as acute yet you will continually submit to in innovations those wonderful years. save your coronary heart open and ask the universe to deliver you yet another puppy, once you're waiting. I did it, and ended up with canines I on no account could have chosen for myself, yet they have all became out to be loving, committed companioins.

I really think that the vet won't go about telling people to put their dogs to sleep without good reason. If you feel that the vet did something unethical, ask to have the paperwork on your dog. Maybe the vet will give you some insight as to why having the dog put down was the decision that was made.
As for your loss, Yahoo has support groups where you can go to let your feeling out with other members. When my little rat had to be put to sleep, the people in the group made me feel alot better.
Click on Yahoo Groups and type in loss of a pet.

You can go here, this is an awesome site to post a memorial. Its a 10$ donation to keep the site up and the rescue going, but your furbaby will be there anytime you want to visit her. Its very peaceful.
It is hard to lose a friend. I would look into grief support groups in your area or even online. To those who say "its just a dog" they have sadly never truly loved a dog.

There isn't anything you can do to change what has already been done. If she was old, and if she was sick or had anything wrong with her, then you didn't let her down...you did her a favor because she wouldn't want to be misreable. To make yourself feel better, hust devote lots of time into your other dogs, or get a new puppy to start a new bond with.
