Best to remember that he is your father, not your deity. Humans lie, cheat and steal among the myriad of other distasteful things. Though we may try to avoid those compromising things we often find ourselves in need of them. Don't pretend yourself, or him to be something other than what you are. You can call him on his malefactions and live with the aftermath, or not, the choice is yours. In most cases it is the way in which you approach the situation that will govern its outcome.

since you didn't tell us what the lie was about we have nothing to compare his lie to. is it big or little. sometime people lie to spare our feelings. i would call him and say dad i am a little upset because i do not feel that you were truthful to me. there is no need to argue. just work it out.
