Xmas will be over with sooner than you think - its the same every year - "are you looking forward to Xmas?" then afterwards "glad that's over" there are lots of people in the same boat as you spending Xmas on their own - just keep your chin up and everything will come right for you I'm sure - nothing good happens overnight it always take time

Find the positive in this situation and less on the negative. The fact that you have a child, many women are unable to bear a child. And I imagine you have a healthy child, he/she is not sick and requiring round the clock medical care. The fact that you have a roof over your head, some are homeless and hungry. It will get better, it always does. My grandmother use to tell me, it is always dankness before dawn. The bad comes however, the day light will shine through. Count your blessings, there is always someone who has it worse. Good luck and God bless****

Good Morning to you. I'm sorry you're lonely and not necessarily looking forward to all the 'holiday bustle'. My only advice is to be cautious around the holidays. It's been my experience that it's easier to fall for the wrong person of the opposite sex during this time of the year. You'll be proud of yourself after the holiday season for how strong and self-sufficient you were able to be. So....don't fall victim to the wrong people looking to make your holiday bright. And....most of those couples you encounter are probably not as happy as they appear and have problems of their own. Some may envy the solitude you're able to enjoy! As a single parent, you'll have the freedom to make whatever plans to celebrate new years eve. Look forward to that and good luck to you.

Savour the moment, embrace the peace and quiet, don't envy others, they'll be vexed to high-heaven anyways.... You and your little boy'll have a great time. Then maybe in a year or two, you'll have a xmas where there's more of you, maybe three or four, who knows...

It's just another page in your book, loads more chapters left my friend.

Happy Xmas and a Merry New Year to you both....

try online dating. just as a bit of fun. it's a good way to make friends. remember though that it's just the way it seems. check out www.thesecret.tv get the dvd it's good. 3 months ain't long. i was single for eight years with no kids. what ever you want you can have but it must come from positive thoughts. the law of attraction means what you think about comes towards you. good luck

Well, I do not have a lover for Xmas, just me and my family, because I think it's a family thing anyway. I have a great sister and a good father, so Xmas is going to be good this year..... and I have a good brother............and he has a good gf.

Sorry to hear that you really feel like this, but you must have family 2, so just spend it with them......

Good luck 2 you.

Can I give you some advice.... Don't listen to Elvis'; It'll be lonely this Christmas. It will really tick you off. *wink*

Do something with your kid, take him out in the snow, or go to a funfair, read books, do puzzles, draw and paint pictures. Just keep occupied :)

Merry Christmas, and I suppose, Good Luck!

Cheer up sweetie - at least you can spend quality time with your little boy over Christmas and spend all your money and him and treats for yourself. Perhaps you'll find a man in the New Year - but remember - having a significant other isn't the be all and end all... Enjoy yourself and chin up.

Try renting some kid-safe movies and have family time with your boy. Pop some popcorn and enjoy being together. Even though it's the two of you, it's still a family.
