Understand the true meaning and purport of Heaven and all your queries would automatically dissolve.

Heaven (aka Swarga in Hinduism) is a place in the mighty Cosmos wherein the souls rest in peace until they get to manifest a body on Mother Earth. But there is one condition attached. Any soul can only go to Heaven provided there is a positive balance of karma in hand.

All souls with a negative balance of karma go to hell (aka Naraka in Hinduism).

For every soul (aka Atman in Hinduism) at any point of time there are three abodes available. Either manifest a body on Mother Earth provided matching womb is available (for any soul to manifest on Mother Earth the existence of matching parents is an essential must).

If the matching parents are not available on Mother Earth then it is imperative that the soul would have to rest either in Heaven or hell based on the balance of karma of the earlier manifestations.

And what is karma? Right from the first manifestation the closing balance of any life form is transferred to the next manifestation through the process of karma. It is only karma which keeps the system going. In absence of karma the complete existence of Cosmos would come to a halt.

Does this mean that the reincarnation and the rebirth theory are correct... yes, they are hundred percent correct. Every human being started his first journey as an amoeba (single cell formation), then evolved into insect life, animal life and finally gained the form of a human being.

In all these stages the system of Heaven and hell plays role only after one has manifested the form of a human being... the last in the chain of manifestations.

We need to remember here that it is not Heaven that one would want to go but it is the kingdom of God where Mahavira, Gautama Buddha, Jesus Christ and Prophet Mohammed went. More on heaven here- http://www.godrealized.org/heaven/way_to_heaven.html

Most of the people who follow the brand of Christianity that I follow (Roman Catholicism) don't think that way.

Not all Catholics will go to heaven, and it's possible for non-Christians to go there.

The Catholic Church teaches a belief known as "baptism by desire," which basically means that non-Christians (especially those who've never had an opportunity to hear about Christ) can still gain heaven, if they live a reasonably good, Christ-like life that includes some belief in a supreme being.

First, we need to understand what the word hell means and where it came from.

In the Old Testament it is the Hebrew word 'Sheol', meaning death or the grave (to which everyone goes, Christians and non-Christians alike), and occasionally to the place of punishment for the wicked.

In the New Testament, it is the Greek word 'Hades' and occurs only 10 times and in 4 books (Matthew, Luke, Acts and Revelation). In most cases it refers to a temporary place of punishment for the wicked.

Then there is the New Testament word 'Gehenna' which includes the punishment of both body and soul after the final day of judgement. Interestingly, Gehenna comes from Jewish history (circa 750 BC) when King Josiah dumped the bodies of his enemies and their pagan alters and images into the Valley of Ben Hinnom, south west of Jerusalem (known today as Wadi al-Rababi) and set fire to the lot. Gehenna was literally a burning rubbish dump and the fires never went out.

Interesting, eh? And you thought you were asking a simple question! Well, if I am to avoid the fatal mistake of turning this answer into a lecture, let me just say in closing that it is God who decides who goes where. What a relief!

They dont all think that. Some people like using religion as an excuse to judge others.

But yeah, to some extent the guy is right about 'thats what the bible teaches'. But it also teaches a whole bunch of stuff about love and forgiveness. Its easy to miss that when some people who call themselves Christians start going on about Hell.

There have been debates within the church as to the relevance of Hell and how much it should be stressed in teaching the Bible.

Only those people loyal to God will get into Heaven. That means, many people that call themselves Christian but do not live according to the teachings of Jesus Christ and His Apostles will not get in. It may be that some people, who have not heard about Jesus Christ, but still recognise that God has to provide the answer for their sin will get in because of their faith. Those people that are convinced of their own righteousness will not gain eternal life.

Man's sinfulness has spoilt this creation. God is going to sweep it away and make a new one. He would be foolish to let the same thing happen again, wouldn't He? So, anyone who might spoil the new creation will not be let in. Only those who have shown themselves worthy of God's trust will be there.

NOt all christians do. Catholics knows it's hard to get an invite to heaven. Mostly because you truly have to believe in Jesus, and do good works. And I know that many protestants do not accept the idea that we have to work to get to heaven, but if we love Jesus, we would want to change to be more like Him--He wanted us to love and help those who needs it. Read the book of James, it says that faith without works is dead.

Because thats what God said in his word. For in the beginning was the word and the word was with God and the word was God.
What Christians believe is that everybody is guilty of breaking the laws God set forth, so the only way to receive forgivness is by the blood of Christ. If you go before God without Christ you have no chance.

Because true Christians (like myself) believe that God revealed himself and that revelation is found in the Bible. The Bible says that we are all sinners on our way to death and that the only way to be saved is through Jesus Christ his son.

Being that those who trust Christ with their lives are called "christians" and Christ is the only way to be saved it adds up that everyone else including those people who say they're christian but don't truly have a relationship with the Messiah are not saved. In other words will be judged to death which is found apart from God aka hell.

One can either be nice and say those who don't trust their lives with Christ will not be saved, or one can be blunt and say "all non-christians are going to hell" Either way its the same meaning and outcome

for a christian, any teaching that runs contrary to the bible is considered false. the position of the bible is that heaven is attainable only by accepting Jesus Christ as lord and saviour (John 3:3, John 3:16-17,romans 10:13).There is no any other religion that teaches this.
