There is a big difference between an ACD (Australian Cattle Dog) and an AS (Australian Shepherd)

An ACD is a short coated dog with upright ears and a tail.

An AS is a long coated dog with floppy ear and no tail.

Blue Heeler, Red Heeler are all color variations of the ACD. In the AS they are referred to as Merle. Blue Merle, Red Merle etc.

A Queensland Heeler is not an ACD. They are a seperate breed as well.

Yes, the Australian Cattle Dog is also known as a Blue Heeler, Red Heeler, or Queensland Healer. They're great dogs--we have a blue heeler/beagle mix and she's very loyal and just loves being around us and being taken care of.

An Australian Cattle dog is the same as a blue heeler. A blue heeler is simply one of the color varieties, the more common one that you see.

Yes. You'll hear them called Australian Cattle Dogs, Australian Cow Dogs, and Australian Sheepdogs.

They also have a counterpart called a Red Heeler.

Their breed is a descendant of Dingo, German Shepherd, and Dalmatian.

Yes, they are the same dog, just differences in coloration. There's also a "Red Heeler" and a few others that are all considered AC Dogs.
