Best of all I like croissants. I always have like croissants, but after a visit to Paris, I loved them. Nostalgia!
We had had a rough night because my mother with whom I was travelling had committed the faux pas of being human which did not sit well with the concierge of a very informal, surprisingly ratty little hotel on the Left Bank. It was late in the day when we arrived and since my mother did not believe in making reservations anywhere because she preferred danger .... we got stuck with what the tourist office slipped us into! It was alright!
But, by morning all was forgiven and said concierge sat us down at a little table in the lobby , brought us imposssibly good coffee and two croissants each with fresh butter and apricot jam. I'll never forget that. I found that the French can be very growly to say the least if they think a certain way of behaving has been violated, but underneath they are warm, sage, and kind.
I could be wrong.

I love anything with mushrooms but this in particular;
Mushroom Dips
Ingredients
breaded garlic mushrooms
vegan mayonnaise
spring onions
crushed garlic (optional)
There is nothing nicer than breaded garlic mushrooms dipped in onion mayonnaise. I always cheat and buy frozen breaded mushrooms as it makes things much easier. You can usually either fry them or cook them in the oven. For a lower fat option cook them in the oven but frying them makes them a lot nicer.
For the dip whip up some vegan mayonnaise until it is smooth. Then add chopped spring onions. You can add garlic too if you like.
