Yes there is skiing nearby. Here is the easiest way to get there: At the end of your driveway take a right. Follow the road until you come to your first stopsign. Take a left and follow that road for 2.3 miles and take an immediate right. When you come to the curve in the road you will see two farm houses on your left. Take a left after the 2nd farmhouse and contiunue on that road until it comes to a "T". Do not go right or left...put your vehicle in four wheel drive and go straight. Once the snow becomes too deep and you get stuck, get out and walk on foot. Make sure you have your ski gear with you. Continue to walk west until you get to the nearest airport. Once you get to the airport, walk inside and buy an airline ticket to a place where there is a ski resort. Then get on the plane, making sure you have your ski gear with you. Once you get to your destination, get off the plane with your ski gear and go to the car rental desk. Rent a car, or truck, and drive to the ski resort. Once at the ski resort, buy a lift ticket and get on the chairlift. Remember to have your ski gear with you. It is actually smart to put your gear on before getting on the chairlift. Once at the top of the hill, get off the lift and proceed to ski down the hill. Once you reach the botttom, repeat this step until you feel you have skiied enough. Good luck skiing!

What do you mean by nearby? When I lived in Minneapolis we used to ski at a place called Buck Hill, and another place in Wisconsin that didn't use chair lifts. In Chicago we skiied on a trash hill...
