Yes like all bombs it can kill you. Unlike other bombs this one can kill you from thousands of miles away with radioactive fallout. To see what kind of damage such a bomb can do look up pictures of Hiroshima and Nagasaki or post war nuclear weapons tests on simulated town.

Ask the hundreds of thousands that were underneath the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombs. Oh wait, they're dead, you can't ask them.

Yes, a detonated nuclear bomb will kill you with:
1. Heat (hot as the surface of the Sun)
2. Wind (200-300 mph - first in one direction, then the reverse)
3. Radiation (destroys tissue, organ function, immune system)

It can kill you...

25 Megaton Destroys a 40 mile radius.
The fallout goes into the stratosphere and radiates all through the jet stream.

1 Kiloton Destroys approximately a 1 mile radius. radiation spreads in the regional area.

Be sure to wear a body sized condom have a rebreather and a lot of sunblock!

Everything within 50 miles will be vaporized, within 100 miles killed outright, everything from trees to buildings to cars will be destroyed. Every one with in 200 miles will die from animals to humans. It will be left a radio active death trap for 200 years.
Radio active fall out will kill everything within 900 miles.
It was once estimated that from San Francisco to New York is 3000 miles. Just 4 nuclear bombs each that would fit it the back of a truck, that could be detonated from out of the country by a telephone call. By the way it is about 2000 miles from Texas to North Dakota, so by placing them in the middle. That would wipe out not only the USA but the North part of Mexico. Just four at a stragic location. Saw once where that was can't remember but I am sure the terriorists know. That is all it would take to wipe out everyone in the USA. All set to go off at once, so no previous knowledge of go hide. If you didn't get killed in the blast how to survive. There would be no one left.
shows in the Jerico show these forces coming in to clean up.
There would be no enemie coming in it would be a death trap.
Wouldn't need to.

Depends on who built the bomb. If it was built in N. Korea, you don't need to worry about it going off, but they might have been to cheap to bother shielding the nuclear material so I wouldn't stand beside it for to long.

If it was built in the US you don't want to be there if it goes off, but you could sleep on top of a stack of them without much worry about a radiation leak.

I guess it depends on the situation, now, doesn't it?

If I were to stand next to a nuke -- no big deal. done it many times during my 28 year military career. Still here.

If I were 100 miles away when it went bang? No sweat.

If I were at ground zero when it went bang -- UH-OH!! Course, I wouldn't know it . . .

The bomb can if it falls on you, the biggest problem would be if it went off and you were close. Think that would hurt a lot........ :)
