This book called "The Movie Star Diet" by Steve Simmons. It helped me lose thirty pounds in 2 1/2 months when I didn't think anything would work. My goal to begin with was only 20 lbs! It has a really easy plan to follow and an excellent workout as well.

It's not a fad diet or the most popular diet right now but it is tried, tested and true!

Here is the weight loss regime I've had success with (went down 1 and 1/2 dress sizes in 5 months)

1. Eat healthy. That doesn't mean deprive yourself of anything...just eat everything in moderation (reduce fried foods, sweets etc.). Try to add a salad to lunch AND dinner - no mayo based salad just greens, veggies, fruit etc. Include some nuts and low fat meat for a full meal.
2. Cut your pop/drink mix (such as fruit drink) consumption in 1/2 and try to drink at least 6 glasses of water every day.
3. Exercise. Walk more - even if it means parking further back from the entrance. Take the stairs. Pick and activity you enjoy. For example, if you don't like the gym, try a group sport such as volleyball or basketball, or try an outdoor activity such as tennis, running, hiking or try dancing.

You've made the first step which is to WANT to lose weight!

Good luck to you.

A few years back I went on the South Beach diet and lost 17 lbs in 3 months, the only drawback I found was that I was bored with the diet. This past October, I signed up for Curves, adjusted my portions of food (I don't deprive myself either, I just have a smaller amount of sweets); I've only lost 7 lbs but I've lost 3 inches in my waist, 4 inches in my hips and dropped 2 dress sizes--I am thrilled! I go to Curves between 3 and 4 times a week and on weekends I exercise 30 minutes at home. That's it! I'm 55 years old and have never felt better. I wish you much success in your efforts--you will do it!

Weight Watchers. The plan is very easy to follow, and I have had success (the only diet I ever had any success with). You eat everyday foods, and can eat anything. The emphasis is on making healthy choices & portion control. I also suffered from alot of stomach problems before I did WW, and have not had any of those problems since converting to the WW way of eating. Another woman in my group said she has Crohn's disease, and has not suffered a single attack since starting.

Some of the people in my group have lost 100+ pounds!

Good luck!

Well, no commercial diet, but I have had success with losing weight through eating many small snacks throughout the day, stretching my hunger from one lowfat snack to the next, and never getting TOO hungry.

I think exercise is the best remedy over diet. I'm thanking that I never had to worry about weight and can eat anything I want.

I have lost over 50 lbs. in the last 6 months by cutting back on simple carbs and fat intake. I also moderate my proportions. I walk for 20 minutes a day on a treadmill or outside weather permitting.

Actually "diets" usually fail....you just need to cut back your intake of food, maybe replace snacks with fruits or veggies, drink lots of water, and walk about an hour a day, 3 days a week. Change your lifestyle!

The "Don't Put the Food in My Mouth Diet". I cut the amount of food I put on my plate by half and lost lots of weight.
