The Eastern Orthodox faith don't practice Christmas every December 25. They have something about Feast of the Nativity -- probably closest to the Christian Christmas. So I'm just wondering if I were to greet someone of the East Orthodox faith a Merry Christmas, what is the equivalent greeting? Thank you!

It's not Happy Holidays nor is it Happy Hannukah (which is Jewish)

I am Orthodox, and we absolutely use Merry Christmas. Christmas is a major source of celebration in the church. There is the religious fast from 11/15 to Christmas Eve, the Nativity season. No animal products or alcohol, with a couple exceptions on certain days. Some extra church services. Services are Christmas Eve around 10:30pm with a celebratory meal afterwards for the breaking of the fast. Then there is a continuation of the season until about January 7. No fasting during the post Nativity.

I don't care what somebody's religion is. It's Merry Christmas. Christmas is about Christ our Lord and Saviour!
