It would probably be a LOT different. Hitler was vying with communists for political control of Germany, one or the other would almost certainly have gained control - and if the fascists didn't have Hitler, they'd have had another equally nasty leader. If this leader wasn't quite powerful enough to overcome the communists, then they would almost certainly have signed a treaty with the USSR - and then not have betrayed them. The combined forces of Germany and the USSR would have been unstoppable, and would certainly have conquered Europe (and therefore having all their colonies too) and been able to bully the US into anything they wanted.

Yes all major wars cause the opponents to out-do the other by developing new/better weapons and defenses. Some of no real civilian good [eg.landmines, poison gases, nuclear bombs,etc.]. But many are,..jets, 4X4's,computers,emergency medical care, etc. This would be the case for thousands of years. Had there never been human conflict we would now be living in a world/society easily several hundred years back technologically at least. This is of course terribly ironic as it may suggest we are better off thanks to all past devastations and deaths of many millions of people. Personally for me to get back to life without Hitler,..I wouldn't exist/have been conceived,..my parents lived far apart and would have never have met had there been no WW2,..this would also be the case for hundreds of thousands, probably millions of people around the world. Even in peacetime though potential adversaries continue to try to get ahead technologically,..as in the recently past Cold War which excelerated things like putting humans into orbit and gave us the internet, while of course also resulting in deadlier ways to Kill. Actually, Japan was already in the process of starting a conflict
on it's own.
As for Europe, if no Hitler then someone else.

What would life be like ?!?!?!?!?
Well, for starters...
We wouldnt know that you could shove 200 people into a cattle car.
or that people can last years being fed a piece of bread a day.
or that if you inject a womans womb with bleach it will strerilize her.
or that people become animals when caged and starved and forced to work hard labor.
or that people are evil enough to pretend they are skeet shooting with babies.
or that a person can be deluded enough to try and justify millions of deaths.
Honestly, the world would be different. Hitler showed everyone the evil that dwelled amongst them. He was a sick man who helped rape the world of its innocence.

The Communists probably would have conquered Europe not so much militarily but politically. Japan on the other hand was desperate for oil after the US embargo. So it seems war may have been inevitable in Asia.

Yeah that's right good old Adolph is absolutely, 100% responsible for every single technological advance since 1939 to right this minute. And for every single advance for the he next 1000 years and on an on an on.
And Japan went to war to secure a steady supply of raw material and access to a secure oil pipeline to fuel their industries and their military. Or did Adolph order them to attach Northerner China and every island in the Pacific including Hawaii.
I guess all those history class I took and my education in military history is.....wrong.
Thanks for setting me straight!

Europe at that time, and particularly Germany for being blamed for WWI, was a ticking time bomb ready to explode. If it wasn't Hitler who came to power, it would have been someone else with similar feelings and sentiments. The world would been minimally different, but it may have taken longer to start WWII.

I hope your not a Hitler supporter.
All I can tell you is that he was an evil man that brought about the deaths of literally millions.
No technological advances are worth the suffering and death of humans.
