Cat IV = no bonus. You would have to score at least 50% afqt and if you were in the 20's the first time, i doubt you will raise your score high enough..........

If you end up being a cat IV then no you will not get an enlistment bonus, however, if you do well on the ASVAB when you take it at MEPS again then yes you are then eligible for a bonus. If you are not offered a bonus at enlistment then enlist for the shortest term possible if you plan on staying in. When you re-enlist then you can take advantage of the Army's re-enlitment bonuses.

There is no bonus if you are a Cat IV.

In fact you are lucky to get into the Army at all with that score.

Um... I think this is a question that you should direct to your unit's personnel officer (usually a SSG or MSG at HQ); or if you're not in yet, talk to your recruiter's CO - tell him/her you didn't get a sufficiently clear explanation from the recruiter. Don't sign anything until you've gotten an expanation that satisfies you, preferably in writing. (This doesn't mean you'll get the answer you like, just try to prevent unpleasant surprises.)

Have you signed your contract yet? Your enlistment contract will detail any bonus you get. Don't sign your contract without a bonus, it's just that simple.

you need to go back and talk to the recruiting person and tell them you did not fully understand what your contact stated. bonuses are always good. i just got my reemlistment one.
