Encocrinology is a branch of medicine concerned with disorders related to blood. Encocrinologist is a doctor expertised in blood / hormon related diseases.

Endocrinologist is a specialist who deals with endocrine disorders.
Endocrine glands are glands that secrete hormones like growth hormone,thyroid hormone,sex hormone,insulin and so on.
So endocrine disorders are diseases caused by over-production or lack of the hormones produced by a particular endocrine gland.

Endocrinology is a sub-speciality of medicine.After doing MD medicine or pediatrics,one becomes eligible for doing this subject,which is known as DM endocrinology.There are few recognized institutes in India where this course is available-PGIMER,Chandigarh, AIIMS ,New Delhi, SGPGI,Lucknow and BHU,Varanasi.Some other colleges offer the course,though it is not recognized there and being substandard also like at Meerut,Bombay and Andhra Pradesh.
