Normally I eat breakfest every morning, but yesterday I didn['t because I had a doctors appointment and I was to nervous to eat and when it came lunch time I ate a Wonka Bar and that's it because I was still not hungry. When I got home from work I weighed 3 pounds under what I normally weigh. Everyone told me it wasn't healthy not to eat breakfest, but I lost wieght by not eating as much. So, my question is, do I really need breakfest or will I loose weight by not eating breakfest? (I excercise everyday also if that makes a difference.)

Skipping any meal, but especially breakfast, slows down your metabolism, which more than likely means you'll add a little weight in the long run.
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day - everybody's told that. Without it your body is sluggish, your digestion is sluggish, your brain is sluggish, your moods change. You'll feel and look like crap.
If you're worried about weight, maybe you should look at what you're eating for breakfast instead of skipping it. Your body needs fuel, and the higher the quality fuel you give it the better.

Some people enjoy breakfast. Others, like me, aren't hungry in the morning and don't eat. It's largely due to circadian rhythm.

You didn't lose 3 lb because you skipped 1 meal. Either your scale is out of whack or you had lost the weight before.

Normal daily flucuations can be 2-4 lbs per day, largely based on fluid or unprocessed food in the colon.

If you like breakfast, then eat. If you don't, then don't. There's no truth to the folk tale that your metabolism will slow down. I've maintained a 198 lb loss for 5 years.

Even a container of yogurt might make you feel better if you're stressed about not eating.

Breakfast is the most important meal of the week! It kick-starts your metabolism and overall make you consume less calories throughout the day. Obviously if you missed it once you would have weighed less but it doesn't mean you've lost weight.

Stick to eating a healthy breakfast every morning, you need the energy especially because you're exercising.

According to what I have read, keeping a steady flow of low glycemic carbohydrates, lean protein and good fat is the way to stay healthy. This would mean 3 small to moderately sized meals during the day, and 3 snacks, one in between each meal. This keeps blood sugar level, for optimum performance of the brain. Not eating breakfast (presuming you eat dinner at about 7:00 pm or earlier and lunch at 12:00 pm), means you go without food for 15 hours (more than 1/2 day). This can result in having low blood sugar, which does produce the symptom of "lack of appetite".

You need to eat your breakfast every day in order to jump start your metabolism in the morning to keep your body charged and burning calories throughout the day.
Your one day successful weight loss from skipping breakfast would not happen later if you kept doing that.
The body would adjust and your metabolism would slow down, probably causing you to GAIN weight!

This loss in weight is likely to be temporary. Not eating breakfast is not a good weight loss strategy and will leave you feeling weak and faint for the rest of the day if you do it too often. This may be especially dangerous if you excercise.

A light breakfast actually increases your metabolism, so if your goal is burning fat, I would not skip it. By skipping meals, your body goes into starvation mode, which forces you to store fat and burn your muscle for energy.
The weight you lost was the wieght of the food that was not in your system, not a result of a loss of fat.

In addition, you may want to exercise before breakfast, as at that time your body is already in fat burning mode, whereas later in the day it can take up to 30 minutes of exercise to get your body into fat burning mode.

Breakfast is a must. In fact you are eating after a long break and should be stomach filling breakfast. In India we have a saying breakfast and lunch should be eaten well. Dinner not much.

You will feel better if you eat breakfast and will be more productive during the today. If I did not eat breakfast, I would crash and not function. It would be better to eat a little during the day then all at once.

if you feel hungry in the morning take your breakfast. Morning's meal cannot do anything with your weight unless it is too much - your stomach getting larger and you will need big meals for luch and dinner. Keep norm.
