Yes, before you all start, I have made sure I want this tattoo, really! I just don't have any idea where to get it done. I already have 3 tattoos. I have a butterfly on my lower back, 3 smaller butterflies going down the top of my back and then a pegasus on my lower stomach to the left. Does anyone have any ideas as to where I could have my boyfriends name put?

OK I to have my boyfriends name and i DON'T regret it we were together for 2 years when I got it living together for 3 months, and this month will be 4 years of having his name so they curse stuff is stupid. Oh yeah watch out for that black cat! It is you business, and if you really want it get it!!! People say I am dumb all the time for getting it, but I say people are dumb for having kids with some one they aren't married to that is a decision you have to live with for the REST of your life, I can get my tattoo covered up you can't just leave your child if/when you guys break up. And why should you wait until you are married to him to get the tattoo, what is being married going to do...

Sorry for all of that people just kill me with that "you should go that" stuff. But I think you should get it on your ankle.

No offense and I know that you put a lot of thought into making sure that you want a tattoo which is good and all but....every girl knows the unwritten rule that no matter how long you're with someone you never tattoo their name anywhere on you. That goes for guys too...it's just way too permanent a thing for such a go with the wind type thing. If you must do it though I would recommend getting it somewhere that IF something happens down the road you can hide it like your foot or ankle maybe.

no where. I don't think it's wise to get a lover's name on the body. No matter if it's a boyfriend or a husband. I have heard it's bad luck and from everyone I've talked to, met, read about, etc... they've all lost that person (splitting up or death)... I wouldn't put the name... maybe a heart with the first letter of his first name and yours, but not his name.

Names are almost universally considered a bad idea.
Why not do what my boyfriend and I are planning to do?
We both love tigers, so we're getting matching tigerpaw tattoos. That way, it's something intimate we can share, but if (gods forbid) we break up, it won't be just an ugly reminder, either.

You shouldn't. How do you know you will still be with him in 2 years? Look at Johnny Depp, the "Winona Forever" tattoo he got while with Winona Ryder now reads "Wino Forever.". Is your boyfriend's name one that could easily be changed into another saying? (My mom's boyfriend has LYNDA tattooed on his arm, says it means "Love Your Neighbor Dumb-A**) Also, are you absolutely positive that he is as serious about you as you are about him? If in the future he proposes, maybe consider matching tattoos, but even then, not a good idea to put his name on you in such a permanent way.

You may want to ask yourself the question, Will I want this tattoo on my body if I break up with him? Why not try a fake tattoo which can be removed easily for 1 year and see if you are still going together. If you marry another person, will he want to see that tattoo on your body or will it turn him off? Tattoos are hard to remove once you have them so consider this very carefully.

Don't do it sweetheart. Even if your relationship lasts forever, you may still regret it in the long run. If you totally insist on it, I'd do it on your lower hip in a sexy spot.
