What Is The Purpose

of Your Life?

Serious question. Why laugh about it? Why not take off the to-cool-to-care mask for a few minutes? Answer that question and you'll find out some extremely important things about yourself. Really…

It's amazing how much corporate and educational America teaches that "we must have a goal and a purpose" for whatever they are about. Every where you look there are mission statements and goal statements and objective statements, etc. With all that focus on a purpose, isn't it amazing that it never really gets down to the individual and his/her life? Oh yes, an individual person can have short term and long term goals for careers or family or education or finances or hobbies or exercise, etc. Perhaps you have some for yourself regarding these things. But the question remains, WHAT ABOUT YOUR ENTIRE LIFE - WHAT IS THE ULTIMATE PURPOSE TO THAT??? Are you going to take, trophies or bank accounts or homes or cars or careers or family members or pleasure or "fun" times, with you after you die? What will your life mean after you die?

So, what is the ultimate purpose to your life? What is your mission / goal / objective / purpose statement for your life? You’ll know what it is if you’ll just spend the time to ask and answer these extremely important questions. Here are two questions that will tell you what your purpose in life is:

1. What is the thing or person you spend the most time thinking about? If it were possible to record your thoughts, and you could evaluate a year’s worth of thoughts, what thing or person has the highest percentage of time allocated to it / him / her?

2. What is the one thing you want more than anything in life? Stated in some different ways, what is your heart’s desire for yourself? Or, what is the master passion of your heart? What is the one thing you seek above all others in life?

If you answer these two questions honestly, then you’ll have the answer to what the purpose of your life is.

Ask God to help you. It is a daily walk, and you will have daily struggles. They will be extra hard if you try to do it alone. Get involved with a community of believers, pray when you can, read the Bible. All these things help us in our walk. You are on the right track already. If you really want to then you will. You will make mistakes along the way. Lord knows I have. We can't let that discourage us. Regardless of what you do God loves you and will forgive you. I will be praying for you. God bless.

The Bible is the best reference. if you try to change your ways by yourself its going to be very painful. The voice you are hearing is the Holy Spirit. He does not want to convict you but to free you from sin's grip.

Read the Bible. Listen to the Holy Spirit. Go find a church that follows what you have read in the Bible. You don't have to it alone.
The work of changing your old habits is not yours but God's.

Very important advise. Tell your family and involve them in your desicion for Christ from the begginning. they might help you more than you exepect.

Don't expect it to be easy. The Bible compares the way to heaven with a narrow difficult path, the way to perdition however is wide and comfortable.

And of course there is always the people that will try and ridiculize your attempt to get closer to God.

If you would like a suggestion of a group to study the Bible with I would have to recommend 7th Day Adventists. I'm one.

You can do nothing but realize that all are lost without Christ. Realize that you have done evil things, as all have.

Ask God to forgive you for not living righteously. He is merciful and will forgive any who ask. Read your Bible to understand what He wants of us.

This is a gift form God, there is nothing anyone can do to achieve salvation, accept ask it of God. God will change you, and will slowly strip those things away that are in the way.

A few verses that may help.

Romans 10:17- So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. (Strengthen your faith through reading your Bible)

Philippians 3:
13Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, (Paul had to daily put behind him the things which he had doen wrong in his past)

14I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. (Seek God, and try always to praise and to meet the prize)

15Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you. (If anyting be left found wanting in you, God will show it to you, and help you deal with it)

1 John 2
1My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: (We try are best not to sin, but if we do we confess it to Jesus)

2And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. (He is the only way to get rid of sin)

3And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. (If we follow His commandments, then we will know that we are His, because He has strengthened us and given us this ability).

Hope these things help.

You have to ask Jesus in your heart and know He died on the cross for your sins and now sits at the right hand of the Father(our Father),, you have to start praying and trusting in the Lord..You have to read the word(bible)..You have to believe..Your walk with Jesus at first may be hard but after learning and leaning on Him,you begin to trust in Him more each day that you humblely come to Him..

Read Matthew 7:24; Then Confess Romans 10:8,9,10; Read 1st Corinthians 12:3;
Read 1st Corinthians 2: 13-18; Proverbs 3:5,6; Hebrews 4:12; 2nd Corinthians 10:4; 2nd Corinthians 10:5; Romans 12:2; Philipians 4:6-8; Proverbs 16:3....Titus 3:5

In order to be a Christian you must read, meditate, and apply the word of God to your Life. This comes by renewing your mind to the truth of the word of God. It will not happen overnight but it will come, as long as you read, and meditate upon the word of God.
You must read Ephesians chapter 1 and believe what God says about you, that he chose you even before the foundations of the earth. It is not by our works, that we receive righteouness, but only through the Blood of Jesus and what he did at calvary for us that we can come boldly to the throne of Our Lord Jesus.
You must repent and ask for forgiveness daily living a repented life before God, because we all sin and fall short of the glory of God, this will keep God drawing us closer into him. And changing us from glory to glory.
God said come as you are, seek him out while he may be found and he will guide you and help you minute by minute to clean yourself up. You cannot do it with out the help of the Holy Spirit working in you. Romans tells us that we have to believe with our hearts that Jesus lived, died and was rose from the dead, and receive him as Lord and savior and confess with our mouth that he is Lord. He also tells us that we mature in the things of God by the renewing of our minds.
Romans 12:2; Titus 3:5
Apply these Life Practices to your daily walk and in a year from now you will be amazed, at how far you have came..

God also says it is the wise who seek Godly council. So find a church that preaches and teaches the word of God, You will know the truth of the word by this. Where the spirit of the Lord is there is freedom. God's word is ruled not by a bunch of you can't do this and you can't do that, But by you can do all things through Christ Jesus who strengthens you.. Our God is a can - do God and his word will cause us to desire to do what he ask, and reassures us that we can .....
Praise God Sister welcome to the Family...

I would suggest taking things one step at a time. And I don't mean getting rid of something today, something else tomorrow. Our life is about learning and growing. Take your time, but keep moving forward with trying to conform your lifestyle to that which God shows you. I would strongly suggest against trying to fix all of your "bull crap" as you put it at once. It will be too overwhelming and may cause you to decide it is not worth it. I once heard it told as such: It is not our distance from God that he is concerned with...it is our direction. If we are turned toward God, then we will continue to draw closer to him. Remember that it is not instant.

My friend, you simply come to Jesus just as you are and He will do the rest.

All you have to do is take the first step, because your soon-to-be Saviour is a gentleman and will not force you. Get on your knees and talk to Him. Say something like, "Dear God, in Jesus Name, I know I am a sinner. Please forgive me for sinning against You. Please cleanse me with Your precious blood that was shed for me, and change me into what You want me to be. Come into my heart please Jesus. Do with me what You will. In Jesus Name, amen."

Thats it friend! Then try to read your bible every day and before you do, ask the Lord to send the Holy Spirit to help you understand it. Talk to Jesus every day, as if He were your very best friend.

If you need help, email me at ccc4jesus@yahoo.com.

I praise the Lord for His great mercy and love.

First of all, for your salvation to fail, your savior would have to fail. And if Christ is your savior you cannot fail. Read Romans 8:38-39 it sums it all up. SECONDLY, YOU WILL NOT SOMEDAY STOP SINNING. Even the Apostle Paul said, "For I am the chiefest of sinners." Your virtues and your weaknesses are what make you who you are, everyone needs improvement, and God needs you as you are.
