Why is there so much ignoreance when it comes to Islam?

When there are heaps of other religions we don't know about?

Why do I only see derogatory questions about Islam and not about Judaism or Buddhism?

Is everyone so gulliable to believe everything they see on the news? And so small minded to make such generalisations about muslim people?

Seems so, some just take into their brains whatever is on TV. Never stop to think that this is serving some Super Power and not all the 1 billion Muslims are suicide bombers.

1. There are lots of reasons:

A. People are smugly content that they already know everything worth knowing
B. The American media wants us to view Muslims as the enemy
C. Certain other religions want us to view Islam as the enemy
D. Most people don't even know about their OWN religion and it's development and history, and if they don't care about that, why would they care about a different religion?
E. Life is easier with eyes closed...

There *are* derogatory questions about Judaism, Buddhism, Hinduism, Christianity, Paganism, etc. in this neighborhood. I've read a lot of them.

It's quite possible that, like most folks, what catches your attention most is questions about your own religion. That's just human. But it's inaccurate to say that derogatory questions about other religions aren't here.

So as to why you "only see derogatory questions about Islam and not about Judaism or Buddhism", I'd say that that is a perception thing.

Let us face the facts. In all the countries Muslims are the least educated people. I am an Indian, so let me tell you about India. India is the second largest Muslim country in the wold, after Malaysia. In India we have about 13% Muslims. Out of all the Muslims less than 25% are literate. When I say literate, it means a person who can just sign and write his name, and may be is able read some news paper or so.

The Muslims tend stay in ghettos. They go to Madrsas, the religious schools, where modern education is just not there .

Naturally people living in these conditions have to be ignorant lot. Therefore they are easily influenced by the people with vested interests,who use them as terrorists and drug traffickers. These people do not understand anything, They are just brain-washed.

The only way to bring the Muslims to main stream is to educate them, and this can be best be done by the religious leaders. Therefore it is essential to educate the leaders and clergy first.

"ignoreance" ? What the hell?

Anyhoo, the difference is that Buddhism and Judaism aren't full of members telling everyone else that they either believe or they're infidels who are going to hell. Buddhists and Jews follow a positive based religion that doesn't look down their nose at other religions. So it's pretty hard not to like them. Now look at the difference between those two and say Islam or xianity. You can probably see now where that "ignoreance" comes from.

Islam is the only religion that teaches killing of non-believers and people of other religions
but Muslims insist that violent passages in the Quran only apply to long-ago historical incidents (like the battle of Badr), but then also insist that the Quran is a book of guidance "for all times

Islam clashes severely with the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) in the following ways:

Violation of Article 1 and 2: Islam gives lesser rights to the females as compared to males.
But Muslims insist that women in Islam are privileged in an unparalleled manner and their equality with men have never been achieved in history like it was done in Islam, yet use every trick in the book to show that they lack the wisdom and fair judgment of men and consequently, men must reserve the right to BEAT them if they go astray, of course as a "last resort".

Violation of Article 5 (& 18) : Islam gives cruel, inhuman and degrading punishment to those who dont beleive in Islam.

Violation of Article 18 : Islam does not give humans beings, the right to choose their religion.
Insist that Muslims should enjoy all human rights and make infinite number of mosques in western countries but ban Kafirs from Mecca and Medina. Preaching of any other religion is not allowed in any Islamic country .

There are other violations of human rights, which are being done by various muslim countries, such as:

Violation of Article 19 : In Pakistan and Afghanistan, Freedom of speech is prohibited and punishable by law.

Violation of Article 23 (1) & 26 (1): In Afghanistan, female employment and education is restricted and in some cases, banned.

Muslims insist that the laws in Saudi Arabia, Iran and Afghanistan are unIslamic while trying to get them implemented in the west, India and other kafir societies.

Judaism is the foundation that Christianity is founded upon. Jesus was a Jew. After the message of Christianity was rejected by the Jews, it was taken to the Gentiles, and now some Jews have accepted Christ.
Our laws came from God's commands to the Jewish people.
That is why we call America a Judeo-Christian society.

Well, the media is fanning out ignorant and twisted remarks about this religion. Not all people are intolerant. As a matter of fact, I find the West in general to be more tolerant of Moslems than Moslems are of the West.

When people that claim to be under Islam and want you dead in the process .. to even blow up a building with thousands of people in it by using aircraft to detonate the fuel ... you can be a little nervous don't you think ... and question others motives ...
or maybe we should just place our heads in the sand and not question anything .. and all will be just fine.

Maybe you really don't know the religions of this world ... research them then make your opinions known ...

I am a Buddhist. Do you see or hear any Buddhist people blowing up themselves in the name the religion.
