There are numerous, do a google for Free antivirus, you will get a selection.
I use, AVG from Grisoft Free version. runs fine, does the job.

This version got goot reviews. I found it meets my needs, without all the resource consuming qualities of the top commercial brands.

try download.com but be sure to check the antivirus before you download because some say they are free and after you download them they ask for a fee try searchbot search and destroy

AVG antivirus is ok, not great but gets rid of most minor things, and tells you when you have bad ones- www.grisoft.com

mcafee gives you a free trial...Instead of protection I use trendmicro housecall to scan my computer. It is the best one I have found thus far.
