alcoholism. My man friend is the only one who got saved and is clean. His two younger kids don't drink either. Will cooking a dish with alcohol open the door again to the three of them? The alcohol cooks out when heated... Or should there be NO alcohol around any of them at all?

If you are talking about using it in the food, it is fine because it is a negligible amount. If you are talking about serving alcohol with the dinner, then it would be a different story

Like someone else said ask him, but if you are using for cooking then the alcohol will evaporate. And won't be an issue, I wouldn't say anything to the others as this opens up the topic for discussion.

For the food its fine, but to serve is not wise you will open a door all it takes is one sip. Don't do it your conscious will thank you. Serve non-alcoholic drinks different kinds different flavor but no alcohol.
Go into the Internet look for exotic drinks that are alcoholic free, make your own batch if want. Have him form a safer habit. His future will thank you. God Bless. Love, and Amen.

Why take a risk? I am sure you can get around cooking great-tasting food without the use of alcohol. And your friend will appreciate that you made an effort.
