This is a typical tear duct stain. There are products in the pet stores that say they take the stain out. It's a life long problem with these types of dogs. Lots of different dogs have this problem, but it shows up on white dogs the most. Good Luck!

hi westiewoman. i know you put the silver into the eye. i have never used this method, but i know of people who swear by it. i always used a product called diamond eye. you can buy from pet stores. you put some on a cotton ball them wipe the staining without touching the eye. you can carefully cut the stain away if you want immediate results, and for on going i have used a half of a fruit flavored tums, twice daily to keep it at bay. apparently it changes the ph level in the water of the dog so theres no staining, also they like the tastey treat

never heard of it but it does sound like its from the tear duct.. our persian get the staining. but it also might be an eye infection/or a scratch. if its only one eye then there is a reason only one is weeping. you should get it checked by your vet.
we use boric acid mixed with water and pour on a wash cloth to get rid of the staining... its totally safe even if you get some in the eye, even though the word "acid" is used. a vet told me about it and now i swear by it... But you should get it checked out first...smile....good luck...
