What happened to the 'letter' lids on Smarties tubes?

You grew up and stopped buying them lol. Well, that's what I think happened to me anyway- not really checked to see if they still have the letters on them. I use to collect them things hoping to build words with them but lost interest when I kept getting the same three or four letters!! You took me down memory lane for a moment there hehe.
